Located on the west side of Port Alberni, an easy 5–10 minute drive to the city centre, events, and work sites, Chims Cabins gives you the convenience of a Port Alberni motel with the privacy of your own front door. Instead of a shared corridor and a single room, each of our six self-contained cabins has a full-size kitchen and a private covered deck.

The property first opened in 2018 as Chims Guest House, beginning with a single guest accommodation. As the property expanded to six self-contained units, the name Chims Cabins was adopted to better reflect the property. Each cabin features a full-size kitchen, private deck, dedicated guest laundry, and dedicated parking.

As a family-owned and operated, award-winning business, we focus on providing clean, comfortable accommodations with thoughtful details that make guests feel welcome. Whether you're visiting for work, outdoor adventure, or relaxation, Chims Cabins offers a quiet and convenient place to stay.

The name Chims comes from the Nuu-chah-nulth Barkley dialect word čims, meaning bear. An “h” was added to help with pronunciation and spelling.
